Hi friends and Racing Rust fans!

Thank you for visiting my website. I started this project in January, 2007. It was a “meadow find”. I’m guessing it was probably a high school project from the early 1930’s. I am restoring it from a set of dirt track racer plans from 1933 that I found. I also plan on making it drivable on the street, with headlights, horn, and mirrors.

 

Currently, I have removed the engine, and am in the process of refurbishing it and building the body. The work is all done by me, and as you can see from the video, it actually runs! When I got it, everything- including the motor, was frozen. Many of the parts had to be re-engineered. Notice where my knees are originally in this picture-- my feet are on the pedals! Now I’ve lengthened the frame 15 inches. It is now much more comfortable, and a real blast to drive!

I use this project as a STRESS reliever! It is like a mechanical Su Doku.
